The study titled "Influence of Artificial Intelligence Tools on Higher Order Thinking Skills: A Meta-Analysis" and co-authored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Münevver Ilgun Dibek, Asst. Prof.Dr. Merve Şahin Kürşad, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tolga Erdoğan has been published in the journal of Interactive Learning Environments, an SSCI-indexed (Q1 Category) journal, which is highly acclaimed for its great impact in the field of education.
The study extends the understanding of the influence AI tools might have on students' higher-order thinking skills by amalgamating results of extant research. The results confirm the use of AI tools have a medium positive effect on skills classified as HOT and also inform the effective use of AI tools in the development of higher order thinking skills in different levels, from K-12 to higher education.
